In December we learned of the passing of our dear friend and fellow outdoor enthusiast, Rich Frick (1948-2021).

Rich was a big part of T.U.N.E. Camp MN from the very beginning. He was one of the first to write a check in support of our vision to start a local camp chapter, and continued his early support by showing up for every formative meeting of T.U.N.E. Camp MN. From then on, the only time Rich missed a week of camp is when he was at home caring for his wife, Linda.

At camp, Rich taught casting and helped students learn how to fly fish. He also spent many nights in his dorm room tying on tippets, untangling lines and straightening poles. Rich also enjoyed assisting campers with their zip line landing as they descended from the high ropes course. Helping was in his nature, always there to lend a hand to camp staff for unloading the trailer, packing the trailer or anything else we needed. He was beyond a good friend to camp—Rich was T.U.N.E. Camp MN.

In addition to his support of youth discovery the outdoors, Rich also volunteered with Twin Cities Trout Unlimited, Midwestern Trout Anglers, MN/WI Casting for Recovery, Project Healing Waters for disabled veterans, and the Midwest Fly Fishing Expo.

We miss him and know he will always be with us at camp in our memories.
